2003 Map

Motoring upstream with 5 knots over ground against a light current on the Krka river, with high cliffs on both sides, from the river mouth near Jadrija via Sibenik to the upper reaches at Skradin and thus scouring the raw-water side of the cooling system of our Perkins 4.236M diesel engine with reasonably clean fresh water from the river.

Konni: Exploring the historic town of Sibenik, strolling through her Cathedral of St. James (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and studying the frieze with 71 captivating stone portraits which displayed vivid character studies of ordinary 15th-century CE citizens.

Hiking through the Krka River National Park (encompassing an area of 109 sqkm along the Krka river) with many waterfalls (e.g. Skradinski Buk, Roški Slap), museum villages and traditional pubs.

Taking a river-boat ride to Lake Visovac and to Samostan Visovac, its lovely island monastery which was built by hermits in the 15th century CE.
